How do you choose the correct Grooming salon for Your best Friend?
This choice may prove to be a very expensive mistake or even cost your pet their life. A Cheap Price is not the reason to choose a salon. Make sure you ask all the right Questions when selecting a salon.
When leaving your pet with someone, you should be able to feel comfortable that they will treat your pet as well as you would; Keep your pet out of harms way; have the knowledge and experience to perform the tasks required and deal with any situation including an emergency with confidence. Your Groomer should have a working relationship with their local Vet.
Some Groomers use sedation to groom your pet, unless they are a qualified Vet this is not Advisable. Some grooming salons do this so they are able to turn out large numbers of grooms in each and every day. Spunky Puppies never uses sedation. Be sure to ask if sedation is use at the salon your considering using and avoid it at all costs if it is. You Should be able to see all grooming areas, they should all be clean and free of dangers. Avoid salons that have a closed door policy as they may have something to hide. Ask if the groomer is qualified and insured, may low cost groomers have little or no qualifications or insurance.
Your grooming salon should be proud to show off their qualifications and work that they have previously performed. Spunky Puppies is not a low cost dog washing business, we are Pet Stylists that are highly qualified and trained to carry out all aspects of grooming and pet services with all the latest equipment, training and products available from around the world today. Remember in Australia you do not need any training to call yourself a dog groomer.
Spunky Puppies use only the best products available, we choose the correct one to use on your Pets. The use of cheap products will only cause issues for your pet at a later time. Remember a good groom will take your groomer anywhere from 1 hour to 2 to complete. Your Pet has to wear a bad hair cut not you.
Always look for a salon that your pet appears happy to return too, as they are often the best judge of character. Your pet will form a very special trusting bond with a groomer that treats them right. Grooming time should be enjoyable and not a stressful experience. Your groomer should take the time to check how your pet has been before their groom and you should always ask how they were during their time spent at the salon.
